“Wapping Wharf has become a wonderful and eclectic community hub within Bristol. The cuisine on offer here is a melting pot of different cultures – from Indian and Mexican to pizza and tapas, to name a few! Having tried Brace and Browns already, I knew I was in for a treat as Harbour and Browns is run by the team behind Brace and Browns, and also because they are situated at Cargo 2… amongst some tough competition!

The indoor seating area is open and comfy whilst the outdoor area boasts an amazing view of the harbour. We started off with cocktails – spiced mojito and elderflower fizz (Bristol Distilling Company Gin, elderflower, apple, mint with Prosecco) – absolutely delightful and strong!

Their menu is concise so we got straight to business. First up, for starters we ordered the open baked camembert and roasted figs with thyme and garlic crostini as well as the bacalhou (salted cod bites) with sweet chili sauce. Crispy and flavoursome.”

“For main, we went for the (constantly raved about) slow cooked maple and bourbon beef short rib and 8oz beef burger, smoked bacon, goats cheese and spiced red onion chutney and a sizeable side of hand cut chips with aged parmesan and garlic. The short ribs were particularly succulent and scrumptious – the beef basically fell off the bone. You can choose to order this dish for one, to share or for the table! (I would recommend the latter if you are in a 4+ group and you don’t want to race to death as it is bound to be the most popular dish!)

Lastly, we ended the night with a box of their syringe-your-own doughnuts with home made mocha and salted caramel sauces – perfect for those with a sweet tooth. What a fun and unique way to make the evening even more memorable!

I can’t rave about this place enough – the staff were inviting and attentive, they provided generous portions, the atmosphere was buzzing and most importantly, the food was outstanding.”
