We are now a week into January and the festive period has ended.  As most of Bristol have fallen into health kick mode with Dry January, Veganuary, healthy eating and new gym memberships, issue no. 2 of our Eat Early feed features some banging dishes that fit in with our January diets, and some interesting things happening during the first month of 2019!

21st January – Blue Monday/National Hug Day:

Today is supposedly the most depressing day of the year – not much to be excited about here!!

However it is also marked as National Hug Day so how about giving those close to you a big hug today and you might just make their ‘Blue Monday’ that little bit brighter…

23rd January – National Pie Day:

Ok, so we must have some pie lovers here?!? (Us included)

Today is a WHOLE day dedicated to eating pies. No further explanation needed.

Our recommendation is to get yourselves over to The Shakespeare in Totterdown, a cosy and friendly pub hidden amongst the colourful terraced houses. They offer a range of the extremely popular Lovett Pies, which are some of the best you can get in Bristol!!

Bandook Indian Kitchen:

Situated within the trendy Cargo units in Wapping Wharf is a little taste of Indian heaven. Bandook Indian Kitchen serves funky Indian Street Food style dishes and we are in love with their modern and absolutely delicious menu.

For you Veganuary participants out there, we would highly recommend trying their Baingan Moilee, a comforting curry of baby aubergine in coconut milk atop mash potato.
